  • Keyboards allow you to input lettersnumbers, and other symbols into a computer that often function as commands. The following image shows a 104-key Saitek keyboard with indicators pointing to each of the major key sections of a keyboard including the control keysfunction keysLED indicatorswrist padarrow keys, and keypad.

  • A computer keyboard is one of the primary input devices used with a computer that looks similar to those found on electric typewriters, but with some additional keys. The modern keyboard is based on the typewriter, a typing device that was first developed and patented in 1868 by Christopher Sholes.

  • Originally referred to as an X-Y Position Indicatorfor a Display System, a mouse is a hardware input device that was invented by Douglas Engelbart in1963 while working at Xerox PARC. The mouse allows an individual to control a pointer in a graphical user interface (GUI) and manipulate on-screen objects such as icons, files, and folders
  • By using a mouse, the user doesn't have to memorize commands, such as those utilized in a text-based command line environment like MS-DOS. For example, in MS-DOS a user would have to know the cd command and dir command to navigate to a folder and view the files inside. Whereas a Windows user only has to double-click a file to view its contents.

Scanner

  •       A scanner is a device that captures images from photographic prints, posters, magazine pages, and similar sources for computer editing and display. Scanners come in hand-held, feed-in, and flatbed types and for scanning black-and-white only, or color. Very high resolution scanners are used for scanning for high-resolution printing, but lower resolution scanners are adequate for capturing images for computer display. Scanners usually come with software, such as Adobe's Photoshop product, that lets you resize and otherwise modify a captured image.

Digital camera

Image result for digital camera
    • A digital camera or digicam is a camera that encodes digital images and videos digitally and stores them for later reproduction. Most cameras sold today are digital, and digital cameras are incorporated into many devices ranging from PDAs and mobile phones (called camera phones) to vehicles.
    • Digital and movie cameras share an optical system, typically using a lens with a variable diaphragm to focus light onto an image pickup device. Many digital cameras can also record moving videos with sound. Some digital cameras can crop and stitch pictures and perform other elementary image editing.

Processing Devices

CPU
  • The central processing unit (CPU) is the brain of your computer. It handles all the instructions you give your computer, and the faster it does this, the better. Learn about how a CPU processes instructions and how computer engineers are continuously coming up with ways to make it go faster.
  • The central processing unit (CPU) of a computer is a piece of hardware that carries out the instructions of a computer program. It performs the basic arithmetical, logical, and input/output operations of a computer system. The CPU is like the brains of the computer - every instruction, no matter how simple, has to go through the CPU. So let's say you press the letter 'k' on your keyboard and it appears on the screen - the CPU of your computer is what makes this possible. The CPU is sometimes also referred to as the central processor unit, or processor for short. So when you are looking at the specifications of a computer at your local electronics store, it typically refers to the CPU as the processor.

  • Random-access memory (RAM) is a form of computer data storage. A random-access memory device allows data items to beread or written in almost the same amount of time irrespective of the physical location of data inside the memory. In contrast, with other direct-access data storage media such as hard disksCD-RWsDVD-RWs and the older drum memory, the time required to read and write data items varies significantly depending on their physical locations on the recording medium, due to mechanical limitations such as media rotation speeds and arm movement.
chip set

  • In a computer system, a chipset is a set of electronic components in an integrated circuit that manages the data flow between the processor, memory and peripherals. It is usually found on the motherboard. Chipsets are usually designed to work with a specific family of microprocessors.

Output Devices

Monitor

  • A Printer takes print commands from a computer and print out text / images on a paper. Different types of printers are available for various purposes. A printer for office use must be heavy duty and fast while for photographs it must produce high quality prints. Dot-Matrix, Ink-Jet, Laser-Jet are the different types of printers. Print quality of Laser-Jet printer is excellent as compared to Ink-Jet or other types of printers, but they are relatively more expensive than the others. Most laser printers produce black & whiter prints while some can produce color prints as well. The color laser printers are way too expensive then black & white laser printers.

Speakers

  • Speaker is an important part of a computer system. Some systems have a built-in speaker, though they are small in size. Speaker is an essential part of a computer because they can notify about various system notifications through various sounds. Big speakers, woofers & sub-woofers are used for enhance sound quality or creating a mini home theater.

Projector

Image result for projector
projector or image projector is an optical device that projects an image (or moving images) onto a surface, commonly a projection screen.
  •          Most projectors create an image by shining a light through a small transparent lens, but some newer types of projectors can project the image directly, by using lasers. A virtual retinal display, or retinal projector, is a projector that projects an image directly on the retina instead of using an external projection screen.
  •    The most common type of projector used today is called a video projector. Video projectors are digital replacements for earlier types of projectors such as slide projectors and overhead projectors. The newest types of projectors are handheld projectors that use lasers or LEDs to project images. Their projections are hard to see if there is too much ambient light. Movie theaters use a type of projector called a movie projector. Another type of projector is the enlarger, a device used to produce photographic prints from negatives.

Activity #3

Blue Screen of Death in Microsoft Windows

BSODs have a variety of root causes, but these tips will help you deal with many blue screens. First is to Use System Restore: If your system recently started blue-screening, use System Restore to roll its system software back to a previous state. If this works, you’ll know that it’s likely a software problem.Scan for Malware: Malware that digs deep into Windows and gets its hooks into the Windows kernel at a low level can cause system instability. Scan your computer for malwareto ensure buggy malicious software isn’t causing it to crash.Install Updated Drivers: An incorrectly installed or buggy driver can lead to crashes. Download the latest drivers for your computer’s hardware from your computer manufacturer’s website and install them — this may fix BSODs caused by driver problems.Boot Into Safe Mode: If your computer is blue-screening every time you turn it on, trybooting into safe mode. In safe mode, Windows loads only the essential drivers. If a driver you’ve installed is causing Windows to blue screen, it shouldn’t do so in safe mode. You can work on fixing the problem from safe mode.Check for Hardware Problems: Blue screens can be caused by faulty hardware in your computer. Try testing your computer’s memory for errors and checking its temperature to ensure that it isn’t overheating. Reinstall Windows: Reinstalling Windows is the nuclear option. It will blow away your existing system software, replacing it with a fresh Windows system. If your computer continues to blue screen after this, you likely have a hardware problem.

A computer in proper working state shouldn’t blue-screen at all, but no software or hardware is perfect. Even a properly functioning computer may blue screen on rare occasions for no apparent reason — possibly as the result of rare driver bugs or hardware issues. If your computer is regularly blue-screening, you have a problem. If you encounter a blue screen once every two years, don’t worry about it.

III.) BENEFITS

Windows 10 users who dread the "blue screen of death" could one day find it helpful, if news of an upcoming feature turns out to be correct. An unloved staple in Windows for years, the blue screen of death can pop up whenever some type of hardware or software problem, such as a memory conflict or a bad driver, causes your PC to crash. In the past, BSODs said either very little or too much, most of which was indecipherable to the average person. But that could be changing with the next major update to Windows 10. Due for official release this summer, the free Anniversary Edition of Windows 10 will add a QR code to the BSOD screen, according to a Reddit user who posted a shot of the screen. You'd be able to scan that code using your phone and be directed to a Web page that could shed light on the cause of the crash.

You could also relay the information to a Microsoft support rep, who might then be better equipped to determine the source of the bug and even help you troubleshoot or fix it. After the lackluster response to Windows 8, Microsoft is eager to show that its successor, Windows 10, is an appealing and easy to use operating system. Bugs are a fact of life. But the new BSOD could turn what has always been an annoying and perplexing screen into something that could be helpful in the event of a problem.
The Windows 10 Anniversary Edition is currently available in preview mode for users of the Windows Insider Program. Through the Insider Program, freely available for any Windows user, you can receive advanced previews of upcoming editions of Windows 10 and offer Microsoft your questions, comments or criticisms. For now, the QR code brings you to a generic page that explains how to troubleshoot blue screen errors. If the feature is finalized, though, the code presumably would take you to a page dedicated to whatever specific problem crashed your PC. When asked about the new BSOD, a Microsoft spokeswoman sent CNET the following statement:
"We are constantly experimenting with existing and new features in the Windows 10 Insider Preview in an effort to improve the user experience with Windows 10. We encourage Windows Insiders to share their feedback in the Feedback Hub app."

V.) DISADVANTAGES

A blue screen doesn't damage the computer, but it may be a sign that something was damaged. Sometimes the suddenness of the crash can cause some files that were being updated to get corrupted. If firefox is your main issue then it might be that its settings were corrupted, it may be consistently caching to the HDD rather than storing on the RAM which is much faster.  Motherboard damage is hard to check with software as it interacts with almost everything so the best way is to rule out other parts and if all that's left is the motherboard and CPU it's probably the board as CPUs are quite sturdy.

It should clarify that all programs are very slow to start, and if It click on something too quickly, it states that it is not responding. It do believe that all of the problems started with a virus but cannot prove it. It retrieved what data could and wiped the HD and reformatted. If cannot figure out why every program is so slow. It seems like there is a problem with communication but can hear the HD chugging away like it is trying to read the data.
